Music in Pakistan is going
great guns these days. With all sorts of music and bands in
the limelight we have a tough competition on our hands to
who is the best. Music lovers have now more reasons to go
to concerts because of the great bands like Noori, Fuzon and
Junoon. Jammin Karachi was a concert held recently in Karachi
featuring Ep, Noori, Fuzon and Junoon. The venue tucked away
in the confusing lanes of Korangi, was the P.A.F yacht club
far away from the city. The stage was nicely set with all
black and the weather was very nice. As with every show or
concert in Karachi, the show started late and the first band
to see the limelight was Ep. The band was full of energy but
there live playing was not that professional as firstly, they
have a lot of members in the band and secondly, they were
complaining about the sound all the time. I really fail to
understand that when Fuzon and Junoon played on the same sound
and set there was no problems. Even Noori didn''t complain
about the sound. Anyway Ep did covers of rage against the
machine, linkin park, limp bizkit, tool, system of a down,
Sajjad Ali and few of their own songs including, Rahguzar,
Hamesha, Hum ko Azmao and a few more. In the end Ep thanked
Karachi but made an absurd comment about the sound on the
stage, which was very wrong of them.
Next
up was Noori and as soon as the stepped on the stage the crowd
went on fire and every one enjoyed their own songs which they
played live and they were, Suno kay main houn jawan, jana
tha humnay, bol, manwa ray, sohni chad mahiwal and tum hans
diye. Ali Noor the vocalist / guitarist of Noori was very
exited and they played really well. With the former drummer
of Junoon (Gumby) playing on Noori''s side the band is well
organized musically and their coordination was perfect.
Following
Noori was Fuzon the moment everyone was waiting for. As soon
as they came up into the blazing lights of the stage, the
crowd went wild. Everyone was going crazy, as Fuzon is the
new music sensation in our country. They started off with
Dewaaney went on to Pyaar na raha, Teray bina, Khamaj, their
biggest hit Ankoun kay sagar and in the end Ankhian. The best
song they did was Ankhian and the people over there and the
band went wild with an amazing solo performance given by Shaleem,
Sameer, Imran and Farhat. By that time the crowd at the venue
was all excited and were on their feet when Ali Azmat of Junoon
came up with his band. The crowd had a time of their life.
They did their old songs blended with their new songs and
list was, pyaar bina, khuddi, sayonee, saeein, neend ati nahi,
garaj baras, maza zindagi ka, mera mahi, neeli neeli ankhain,
dosti and Azadi. In between Salman added that we could all
be number one and that they were really happy that bands like
Fuzon are making big. On the whole the concert was a beautiful
event and also because the singers were not singing on DAT
(Digital Audio Tape) but there was ''Live'' music. Event like
these should happen more often as I am sure that there is
a lot of good music to come.
